While being known mainly for its racy Gruner Veltliner wines, Austria offers a great variety of vino styles which nevertheless all share an amazing balance between ripeness and freshness. After the wine scandal of 1985, the strictest quality system in the world was introduced in the country. Today, the face of Austrian winemaking is being shaped by small family producers who are conscious about the environment and driven by love for their land and constant pursuit of quality.
