Monemvasia

Monemvasia is an ancient indigenous Greek white grape. It is believed that this variety, among many others, was used for the production of sweet Malvasia wines (‘Malvasias oenos’), famous in the Medieval times. Monemvasia grape originates from the Cyclades. This extremely rare grape makes round mouth-coating whites with stone fruit aromas. Small plantings are found on the islands of Paros, Syros and Peloponnese.
