About Martin & Anna Arndorfer
Arndorfer is a family-owned winery located in the Kamptal wine region of Lower Austria. The winery was founded in 1982 by Karl and Brigitta Arndorfer, who began with just a few hectares of vineyards.
Their son, Martin Arndorfer produced his first vintage in 2002 after completing his training in Italy, inspired by the diversity of the Italian wines. Anna joined him in 2009 and in 2012 they took over Martin’s family estate in Kamptal.
The couple now manages 16 hectares of organically farmed vineyards, producing natural wines out of local grape varieties. Schlehe is the name of the local blackthorn or sloe berry found in this part of Austria.
Overall, Arndorfer is a highly respected winery that has earned a reputation for producing some of Austria’s most exciting and innovative wines.
In addition to their dedication to winemaking, the Arndorfer family has also a commitment to promoting the Kamptal region and supporting their local community. They operate a guesthouse and restaurant on the winery property and organize events that showcase the region’s food and wine culture.
Care for the Mother Nature and soil is the core idea of this family. As they put it, “Because of our experience that nature is the strongest force, we’d love to work with her. Because of the knowledge that the soil is the most intelligent part we deal with, we’ve decided to trust him.”
