The roots of this family winery can be traced back to the 1970s, when Akis Zambartas completed his studies at the University of Montpellier and returned to Cyprus. He became the first islander to have studied oenology at university level. Akis is considered a pioneer of Cypriot wines, dedicating a big part of his life to studying and recording indigenous grape varieties. In 2006, his son Marcos joined him on this path. Together they launched Zambartas winery, which champions authentic terroir-driven wines.
