A&D LIV Vinho Verde 2021
Liv Vinho Verde is a kind of wine which you can sip on its own, at sunset, or enjoy it at a lavish dinner party. In a word, it is versatile. Light, fresh and easy drinking it is a true crowd pleaser and exactly what you would expect of a good Vinho Verde. The wine reveals pleasant, delicate aromas of yellow apples, melon, lemon peel and nectarines. These are matched by a deliciously fruity palate with ample flavours of lemons and apples, as well as a vibrant acidity and a light pleasant fizz, typical for the appellation.
Coming from a family-run, organic winery, Liv Vinho Verde is a carefully hand crafted wine. The grapes were manually harvested and selected, followed by fermentation in stainless steel vats. Special care was taken during winemaking, minimising any intervention, with the purpose of producing a natural wine that expresses the character of the land and the grapes.

Wine Origins
Portugal is a real treasure trove of unique wines and indigenous grapes. Despite the ever changing trends, the country was reluctant to plant international varieties and managed to preserve its wine identity - which has evolved throughout 4,000 years of winemaking history. Today, Portuguese wines offer great value and a mind-blowing variety of styles, from crisp whites and lush orange wines to fruit-filled reds and sophisticated ports.
This family estate, located in Vinho Verde’s sub region of Baiao, has been making outstanding wines since 1991. Baiao lies next to the border with the Douro region and offers a unique terroir where schist meets granit and where vineyards are planted on terraces at altitudes from 200 to more than 500 metres. Run by Alexandre and Dialina Gomes, hence the name A&D Wines, the estate is certified organic since the 2020 vintage.
Avesso is an indigenous Portuguese grape grown mainly in northern part of the country. It is one of the key grapes used for the crisp Vinho Verde wines. In Portuguese, Avesso means “reverse”, reflecting that this grape is lower in acid and higher in alcohol – the opposite of the other local white grapes. With captivating aromas of peaches and tropical fruits, Avesso is often called the next 'star grape' of Vinho Verde.
