Description

This elegant Vinho Verde shows fresh aromas of citrus fruits and plenty of mineral notes which come from the vineyards proximity to the ocean. On the palate, Vinho Verde Branco Quinta de Sanjoanne is vibrant and lively, with a pleasant roundness and a touch of salinity. A very food-friendly wine, it is a perfect match for oily fish, creamy or tomato-based sauces.

The grapes for Vinho Verde Branco Quinta de Sanjoanne come from vineyards grown on granitic soils, in the sub-region of Amarante. The wine is a blend of Loureiro and Avesso.

Casa de Cello

Casa de Cello is a family-run winery that has been making wine in their estates for 4 generations. It was in the 80's that one of the owners, João Pedro Araujo, laid the groundwork of the existing winery by introducing modern viticultural and oenological technologies. Today, Casa de Cello tends 34 hectares of sustainably-farmed vineyards in the regions of Dao, Entre-Douro and Minho producing excellent wines of great value.

Avesso

Avesso is an indigenous Portuguese grape grown mainly in northern part of the country. It is one of the key grapes used for the crisp Vinho Verde wines. In Portuguese, Avesso means “reverse”, reflecting that this grape is lower in acid and higher in alcohol – the opposite of the other local white grapes. With captivating aromas of peaches and tropical fruits, Avesso is often called the next 'star grape' of Vinho Verde.
