Diamantis Xinomavro Magoutes 2018

Prices start from £25.95 per bottle Buying options

This refined, elegant Xinomavro is crafted by a small boutique producer from Siatista in north-western Macedonia. Diamantis is known for reviving this ancient, but forgotten wine region. The grapes for Diamantis Xinomavro are sourced from old vines, grown on rocky limestone soils at altitudes up to 950 metres above sea level. The wine opens up with captivating aromas of currants and cherries, sweet spices and delicate herbal notes. Soft tannins and ample freshness suggest that the wine will age gracefully in the bottle.

Finely balanced, Diamantis Xinomavro is a unique, mid-weight expression of this ancient grape. The wine reflects the quality of the finest selected vineyards of the region. Wildly fermented and bottled unfined and unfiltered, it preserves the grape aromas in their purest form.

James Suckling, 94 points:

A very balanced and fine tannined xinomavro with cherry, dried flower and peach pit character. It’s medium-bodied with firm tannins and a fresh and clean finish. Drinkable now.
