Havlabari Cellars Alazani Red 2021

Prices start from £15.83 per bottle Buying options

Georgia is historically famous for its off-dry and medium sweet wines. These are made of grapes which are picked later in the season, when sugar levels are peaking. One of the most famous styles of these wines is Alazani, which can be either white or red. Havlabari Cellars Alazani red is an elegant medium sweet wine made of Saperavi, the acclaimed indigenous grape of Georgia. Saperavi wines are known for their powerful character and their dark colour.

This is a marvellous fruit-driven expression of Saperavi, with enchanting aromas of cherry, plum, raspberry and figs. On the palate, delicate sweetness is balanced by refreshing acidity and a velvety texture. Havlabari Cellars Alazani Red is a great match for desserts, especially cherry crumble or blueberry pie. However, for a mind-blowing food and wine combination, try it with spicy and salty food, such as a charcuterie platter or a kebab.
