Havlabari Cellars Kindzmarauli 2021
Kindzmarauli is a micro-zone in the Kakheti region in south-east Georgia. This appellation is historically famous for its naturally sweet wines made of the Georgian hero grape variety, Saperavi. Havlabari Cellars Kindzmarauli is an excellent example of a this wine style, an outstanding medium sweet red with exotic flavours.
The grapes for this wine come from vineyards planted on rocky basalt soils. The vines here produce naturally low yields and high quality grapes, which are harvested later in the season, when sugar levels are peaking. Havlabari Cellars Kindzmarauli is exotically perfumed and fresh, with notes of sweet spices, dark cherries, pines and raisins. On the palate, it shows fine silky tannins and a vibrant acidity which offsets the enjoyable delicate sweetness. This medium sweet wine is great with spicy dishes, but we suggest trying it with dark chocolate for a truly decadent food and wine pairing.

Julia Harding, Master of Wine:
“Deep cherry-red. Intense red-cherry aroma. Sweet but with the freshness of sour cherry. Sweet like a Kabinett, not like dessert wines. Fragrant and finely tannic. Perfectly balanced between fruit, tannins and sweetness.”
