Havlabari Cellars Pirosmani White 2018
Georgia is historically famous for its off-dry and medium sweet wines. These lush wines are made of grapes which are picked later in the season, when sugar levels are peaking. Pirosmani is one of the most famous examples of these wine styles. Pirosmani wines are usually off-dry and can be either red or white. Havlabari Cellars Pirosmani White is made of Rkatsiteli, an indigenous Georgian white grape. The wine opens up with bright aromas of apples, lemons, pears and quince, as well as elegant floral notes. A touch of sweetness on the palate is balanced by refreshing acidity, reminiscent of the best examples of off-dry Riesling and Chenin Blanc.
The grapes for Havlabari Cellars Pirosmani White are sourced from low-yielding old vines grown in the Kakheti region of Georgia. This is an excellent example of the Pirosmani wine style, flavourful and well-balanced. The wine is a perfect match for a cheese board and a variety of spicy Asian and South-East Asian dishes.Â
