Mildiani Bouquet Qvevri Khikhvi 2018

Prices start from £33.28 per bottle Buying options

Mildiani Family Winery has earned an international reputation for their orange wines made in qvevri (clay amphorae). Their Bouquet Qvevri Khikhvi is a stunning expression with aromas and flavours of dried orange, apricots, peach and mango, toasted almonds and walnuts with a hint of cinnamon.

The wine was wildly fermented and aged on the skins for 6 months in qvevri buried underground, according to the ancient Georgian winemaking tradition. Further on, Mildiani Bouquet Qvevri Khikhvi was aged in bottles for over 6 years before its release to the market. Pair this characterful wine with flavourful Asian cuisine.

IWSC 2024:

A wonderfully expressive and aromatic bouquet with complex layers of tart quince, honey, dried mango, and orange zest. The palate shows impressive concentration with hints of lovely spice and tangerine supported by well-managed acidity before a long, tangy marmalade finish.

Julia Harding, Master of Wine:

“Deep gold. Sour-apricot nose marked by the winemaking not the variety. Less tannic, more rounded. Firm but silky tannins; powerful, fresh and long. For lovers of tannic whites.”
