Mildiani Family Winery has earned an international reputation for their orange wines made in qvevri (clay amphorae). Their Bouquet Qvevri Khikhvi is a stunning expression with aromas and flavours of dried orange, apricots, peach and mango, toasted almonds and walnuts with a hint of cinnamon.

The wine was wildly fermented and aged on the skins for 6 months in qvevri buried underground, according to the ancient Georgian winemaking tradition. Further on, Mildiani Bouquet Qvevri Khikhvi was aged in bottles for over 6 years before its release to the market. Pair this characterful wine with flavourful Asian cuisine.

Mildiani Family Winery

Owned by four brothers, this winery has been the driving force of modern Georgian winemaking since the 1990s. One of the first privately owned wine estates in the country, Mildiani take credit for reviving the qvevri tradition and for bringing international fame to Georgian orange wines. Today this benchmark estate boasts a collection of vineyards across the country and remains family-owned.

Khikhvi

This ancient, indigenous Georgian grape originates from Kakheti region where it is widely grown today. Khikhvi is a versatile grape which comes in a variety of styles, from light dry to sweet fortified wines. Regardless of the style, Khikhvi's distinctive aromas are always easily recognisable: charming floral notes accentuate flavours of ripe yellow fruits and apricots. With moderate alcohol levels and mild acidity, Khikhvi wines are light on the palate and very easy-to-drink.
