Georgia is famous for its medium-dry and medium-sweet wines which have been made here for centuries. The grapes for these wines are picked up later than usual, when sugar levels are peaking. Thus, the sweetness always comes from the natural sugar found in the grapes. Kindzmarauli is one of the most famous examples of this style of wines. Made of Saperavi grape, this medium sweet red is full of captivating exotic flavours with notes of sweet spices and raisins. Vibrant and fruity, with delicate sweetness balanced by freshness, Mildiani Kindzmarauli works wonders when paired with spicy, flavourful food.

Mildiani Family Winery

Owned by four brothers, this winery has been the driving force of modern Georgian winemaking since the 1990s. One of the first privately owned wine estates in the country, Mildiani take credit for reviving the qvevri tradition and for bringing international fame to Georgian orange wines. Today this benchmark estate boasts a collection of vineyards across the country and remains family-owned.

Saperavi

Saperavi is one of the most ancient Georgian varieties. It is the flagship of Georgian winemaking, often being referred to as “hero grape”. Saperavi makes some of the best Georgian reds, both dry and sweet. These wines are incredibly rich and powerful, with grippy tannins, lively acidity and extensive range of  flavours. They are notoriously dark and have a tremendous ageing potential.
