Mildiani Mukuzani Reserve 2017
Some of the best Saperavi wines come from the Georgian appellation of Mukuzani, in Kakheti region. This deep, complex red reveals rich aromas of black cherries, fresh and dried blackcurrants, plums, along with exquisite notes of dark chocolate, cedar, tobacco and hints of leather. Mildiani Mukuzani Reserve 2017 has a complex structure with a refreshing acidity; ripe, velvety tannins and a long finish.
The wine was sourced from old vines grown at altitudes of 700 metres above sea level. Fermentation in stainless steel was followed by ageing in French oak barrels for 24 months. Pair Mildiani Mukuzani Reserve with game, slow cooked lamb, chilli con carne and bean stews.

Julia Harding, Master of Wine:
“Mid garnet with some brick at the rim. Signs of bottle age on the nose, too: undergrowth as well as earthy, spicy dark fruit. Chewy tannins filled out by ripe but fresh fruit. The oak well integrated. Ageing slowly.”
