Mylonas Sunday 2017
Mylonas Sunday is a real treat for sweet wine fans. Made of Savatiano grape with a small addition of Aidani, it is charmingly aromatic. Lush notes of ripe apricots, orange marmalade, candied orange peel, honey and blossom are accompanied by fresh acidity. On the palate, the flavours are just as delicious, with apricot jam, citruses and a well-balanced sweetness.
Mylonas Sunday was made according to the ancient Greek winemaking traditions. The grapes were hand-picked and taken immediately into the winery. There, they were placed in the shade for 6 days to dehydrate. Further on, the ‘raisins’ were pressed for many hours, resulting in a rich concentrated juice with high natural sugar levels. This juice was placed into clay amphorae for fermentation. After it was completed, the wine was left on the lees for three months to achieve a pleasant creamy texture. Serve this marvellous sweet wine well chilled and pair it with desserts or salty cheeses, like feta or halloumi.Â
