Description

In modern Armenian winemaking, this is perhaps the only existing example of the tremendous ageing potential of Armenian wines. Old Bridge Grand Reserve Rare Barrels Areni Noir 2005 is a magnificent example of the Areni Noir, a.k.a. the 'king of Armenian grapes'. The grapes come from vineyards located at extreme altitudes, up to 1,450m above sea level. The wine mesmerises with intense and complex aromas of jammy black fruit, a range of spices, captivating smoky and gamy notes. These are followed by coffee, leather, tobacco and forest floor undertones.

On the palate, Old Bridge Grand Reserve Rare Barrels Areni Noir 2005 is elegant and smooth. With silky tannins and fresh acidity it boasts an exceptional balance. A powerful, long finish enhances the experience. Old Bridge is ranked amongst the top boutique wine producers in Armenia. This is a truly astonishing expression of their unique mountainous terroir. Old vintages of Old Bridge Grand Reserve Areni Noir are extremely rare and sought after.
