OuSyra Monemvasia 2021
Ousyra is one of the four wineries, found on the small picturesque island of Syros. Ran by an English-Greek couple, Ousyra makes terroir-driven wines from rare indigenous varieties. Monemvasia is one of these extremely rare grapes, originating from the Cyclades. OuSyra Monemvasia is a plush, generous wine with aromas of apricots, peaches, lemon peel, along with seductive notes of fresh pastry.
The fruit for this wine comes from organically farmed vineyards. Handpicked and hand sorted, the grapes were fermented in stainless steel. The wine was aged on fine lees for 6 months, enhancing the complexity of flavours. Crisp and well-balanced, OuSyra Monemvasia a great example of a modern Greek white.

The Paros grapes are also grown on a limited scale in Syros and this comes from 5-year-old vines. A deep-hued, plump-fruity wine with lime, apricot, lemon liqueur, open and approachable with an opposite character to the tight mineral Serifiotiko. Truly tasty.
