Description

Tillingham Qvevri Orange greets you with a gorgeous golden orange colour and expressive notes of citrus peel and stone fruit, followed by a refreshing salinity on the nose. The palate is zesty and vibrant, with layers of texture and a persistent finish. This outstanding English orange wine was fermented in qvevri - large clay amphorae shipped all the way from Georgia.

One of the few natural wine producers in England, Tillingham has a unique winemaking approach. This wine is a blend of Bacchus, Ortega, Muller Thurgau and Madeleine Angevine, all in equal proportions. Each of the four varieties was vinified separately; the time on the skins varied anywhere from a month to four months. The wines were then aged in a mixture of old oak barrels and foudre for a further 4 months. The final blend was made in a stainless-steel tank. Tillingham Qvevri Orange was bottled unfined and unfiltered, with only a tiny addition of sulphur.
