A small family owned winery, Van Ardi hand craft their boutique quality wines with unparalleled attention to detail. Unsurprisingly, the winery is often referred to as the flagship project of the Armenian wine renaissance. Van Ardi Reserve Hakhtanak is one of the most acclaimed wines of this benchmark producer. Two bold grapes, Hakhtanak and Kakhet, have been aged to perfection with a great potential to continue doing so in the bottle. The wine greets with a dark ruby colour. Its aromas hug you with a rich and inviting bouquet of fresh berries, black pepper, cocoa and smoky undertones. On the palate, it is equally irresistible, with a full body and smooth, long finish. Here is a wine with character that sets it apart and above.

Van Ardi Reserve Hakhtanak comes from high altitude vineyards, grown at the foothills of Aragats, the highest mountain in Armenia. Pair this characterful, full-bodied red wine with a burger, grilled meat, steak or bean stews.

Hakhtanak

Hakhtanak is one of the most promising Armenian red grape varieties. Hakhtanak, which translates as “victory”,  is primarily grown in the Ararat region in west-central Armenia. It makes rich full-bodied wines which are often compared to Cabernet Sauvignon. The wines show ripe tannins, robust structure and rich flavours of blackburry, blackcurrant and plum.
