A small family owned winery, Van Ardi hand craft their boutique quality wines with unparalleled attention to detail. Unsurprisingly, the winery is often referred to as the flagship project of the Armenian wine renaissance. Van Ardi rose is a masterfully crafted blend of local and international grape varieties. Areni Noir, a.k.a. 'the king of Armenian grapes' was blended with another indigenous grape, Kakhet, with some addition of Syrah. The wine has a light pink hue and a fresh fruity bouquet with charming notes of strawberries in cream and peach. Fuller-bodied then your usual rose, it stays fresh, balanced and well-structured.

The grapes for Van Ardi Rose come from grown high-altitude grown at the foothills of Aragats, the highest mountain in Armenia. Pair this rich and lush rose with roast chicken, pork, grilled salmon, tuna or aubergine parmigiana.

Kakhet (Milagh)

Kakhet, also known as Milagh, is an Armenian black grape variety with its origin tracing back to the 4th century. The name “Kakhet” can be translated as “hanging” or “suspended”. Most likely, this name comes from the old days when the grapes were hung to dry over winter. Kakhet is often blended with other indigenous grapes to produce outstanding full-bodied dry wines.
