Voskevaz Katarine 2006
Masterfully crafted by Armenia’s oldest and most prominent winery, Voskevaz, this is an outstanding dessert wine. Voskevaz Katarine is made of the indigenous Kakhet grape. Harvest took place later in the season, when sugar levels were peaking. Skilful winemaking has preserved marvellous aromas of dark red fruit and spices, dark chocolate, coffee and cloves, as well as pronounced notes of dried fruits such as figs, prunes and raisins.
On the palate, the tannins are ripe and velvety and the sweetness is perfectly balanced by the freshness of the wine. Voskevaz Katarine is a powerful yet elegant, tawny Port-style wine. It has an outstanding ageing potential of over 20 years. Katarine is a marvellous digestive and creates brilliant pairings with chocolate, coffee, dried fruits and nuts.

Julia Harding, Master of Wine
“Sweet red wine. Late-harvest Kakhet (aka Milhag) grapes from Aragatsotn province. Brick red with brown at the rim. Rich and pruney on the nose. Packed with dried fruits, firmly textured, intense, sweet and balanced. Long and intense. Amazingly youthful.”
