This award-winning wine comes from the oldest operating winery in Armenia. Voskevaz takes pride in almost 100 years of history and today, crafts exquisite wines of Armenian indigenous grapes. Sourced from high altitude vineyards, Voskevaz Vintage Areni Noir is a perfect introduction to the renowned Areni Noir variety, a.k.a. the ‘king of Armenian grapes’. Unoaked, crafted to preserve the pure fruit aromas, it reveals some of the best features of Areni Noir: subtle tannins, freshness, elegance, lush aromas of red fruit.

Voskevaz Vintage Areni Noir opens up with notes of ripe cherries, plums, blackberries, followed by hints of dried fruit and delicate spicy notes. It is a juicy and an easy to drink wine with a real zip. Pair this smooth wine with duck and other dark poultry, mushrooms or pates and terrines.

Voskevaz Winery

The oldest operating winery in Armenia, Voskevaz will soon be celebrating 100 years since its foundation. In Armenian, “Voskevaz” means "golden bunch". Once upon a time, it was Soviet Armenia’s most prestigious winery. Nowadays, Voskevaz is family-owned, producing exquisite wines of indigenous varieties. Voskevaz were among the first wineries to revive the Armenian tradition of karases, large clay amphorae.

Areni Noir

Alfa and omega of the Armenian winemaking, Areni Noir, or simply Areni, is the signature grape of this country. It is also one of the world's most ancient grape varieties – more than 6,000 years old! Today this unique variety is responsible for some of the best Armenian reds. Elegant, complex and fresh, these wines burst with aromas of red fruit, which has led to Areni being nicknamed the “Armenian Pinot Noir”.
