Amphora Wine

From Greece to Georgia, from Armenia to England, clay amphorae have been used in winemaking for several millennia. Today this ancient method is experiencing a renaissance. Clay is porous, allowing for some oxygen. This gives the wine a deep and rich texture. However, unlike oak, clay does not impart any additional flavours to wine. As a result, amphorae wines are smooth, complex and the grape aromas really shine through!
